Darren Roberts - The Artist
Darren Roberts is an Artist and Photographer living in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK.
His work is mainly influenced by his his local surroundings and his travels in the UK, Europe, the United States and Canada.
Darren's paintings are predominantly realistic, though experimentation sometimes take his art into the graphic and conceptual. He is inspired by the degenerative decay of the industrial landscape and nature's effect on a consumerist society.
His pieces of art have been greatly admired in exhibitions at home and abroad. He achieved a high recognition in the Open Art Exhibition in the Potteries' City Museum and Art Gallery for his Estella's Cafe painting, in 2008.
His first one man exhibition was held in Burslem in 2009.
He continues to explore various mediums, media, and subjects and always insists there is beauty in everything if you look closely enough.
